Description

Please note we are automatically substituting this item with the very similar Congo chestnut hiking staff , due to a shortage of raw chestnut material. The Congo has a very attractive colour and is fitted with the leather wrist strap and combi ferrule. The Congo effect is produced by pinching the growing chestnut stick at intervals along its length a year before it is due to be harvested. The wounds then grow over. When the stick is harvested  the bark is removed to reveal the knobbly cane underneath

A simple and classic walking stick suitable for country walks. Grown from coppiced chestnut wood, this staff has an attractive colour and is fitted with a leather wrist strap. The ferrule is a Combi-ferrule: a rubber ferrule fitted over a spiked one, so that the staff may be used on both hard and soft surfaces. Overall height approximately 122cm (48″).
