Description

A charming stick, traditionally used by farmers’ wives to catch hens by the neck.  Nowadays, hen crooks are often used as everyday walking sticks, as country sticks for children, and as crooks for the shepherds in nativity plays.  Made from peeled chestnut wood, the stick has been steamed and bent into the attractive crook shape.

Overall height approximately 92cm (86″) (heights vary).  Fitted with a metal ferrule.
